No point doing shortys, if anything go long tubes or at least mid-lengths. In all honestly you won't see any power gains or sound difference unless you have other big mods.
BTW, chrome headers always change colour on the tubes due to heat, they will turn a blue-ish colour, still looks cool though, but you can't see them on a 4.6 anyway.

I spend a little extra and get the MAC Long tubes. Better scavenging means more gains. These will however run you more in installation. I believe the K-member has to come down.

Thanks for the input. The car is supercharged now. So i'm assuming there will be at least minor gains with the shorties. American muscle has the headers for $299 chrome, $315 coated. I don't want to really go long tube because of the k member situation, and the fact i'll need another new h-pipe which i've already bought. I think i'll use the money saved to switch up my mufflers from borla side pipes to flowmaster 80 series which have both inlet and outlet tube on the same side of the muffler.

I contacted this guy on streetfire and his is a stock 98 with spray. bbk shorties, mac h and flowmaster 80's. I have the mah h already.

Chrome is a nice look but you can get a near-chrome look with ceramic coating. They'll last for years without rusting and don't change colour the way chrome does. The added benefit is removing about 30 degrees of underhood temperature which has a direct impact on air charge density and horsepower!
